as a gay man, how does one go about acting as straight?

I think the term straight acting - when used in a personals profile - is to suggest that the person doesn't want to or thinks he can't be read as gay as others. (Because gay = effeminate / campy / sissy.) It's also not so much to do with being in the closet, or being top or bottom...


So 'straight-acting only' is another way of saying 'no sissy'?


I think so. I will try to ask the next time I see it on any Fridae profiles :) but I don't see it as often as before
