As a gay man, how does one go about acting as straight?

Mind if I chime in? I'm straight, but I'm sensitive to the plight of people suffering identity crises. Feeling like you should act other than your nature (i.e. an effeminate gay man trying to quash such behavior in an attempt to fit in) is unnatural and quite dangerous to the psyche of the individual.
